Hey there,
Thank you. I’ve really enjoyed this opportunity to meet new people, learn from other young parents, and make new friends.
The journey has been fascinating and meaningful. Writing this book on the post-birth experience was, well - an experience.
I’ve been ejected from multiple chat rooms, run social media campaigns with zero click-throughs, and was even trolled by a veterinarian. WTF.
Fun memories.
Without these setbacks and learnings, I wouldn’t have been able to interview 500+ young moms from across the US, Europe, and Canada.
Or write a rounded perspective on the mismatch between how women often prepare for delivery and the reality of becoming a new mom today—a practical, skimmable guidebook to navigating that first year at home - and at work.
When I started this newsletter, it had several aims. This included testing ideas from the book’s outline and creating a forum with other young parents.
Another aim was to keep me on deadline. Now that the manuscript is written and I’m back in a demanding job, I have to prioritize.
So this will be my last post until I have a book update.
Please tell me if you’re interested in giving feedback on the manuscript or getting a copy of the book to be a reviewer. The input is so valuable and helpful.
Cheers,
Robin
